So, Statesboro does this weird thing where it can be 30 degrees on Monday and then go straight to 87 degrees and sunny the next. Your iPhone is never right when it comes to the weather and at this point, we’re all accustomed to it.
One thing’s for sure, there’s a 90 percent chance that it’s already pool season. In fact, I would go as far to say that pool season never really ended. Since the weather is definitely warmer and classes are getting harder to muster up the energy to go to, it’s time to soak up the sun.
And there is no better way to enjoy some pool time than with a pool-approved drink in hand. We gathered some of our favorites for your sipping pleasure. You’re welcome.
The Shark Bite by The Shabby Creek Cottage
Coconut rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice shaken with ice. Yes please.
Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade by Life As A Strawberry
A serious match made in heaven. You’ll have to make the blackberry simple syrup — but the recipe will stretch for a while. Also, this syrup is vanilla ice cream approved.
Mango Chile Margarita by The Lemon Bowl
Put down that fake-a** margarita mix you picked up one afternoon at FoodWorld. This has real mangos and is super authentic. Olé.
Beach House Cosmos by Recipe Girl
A summer twist on Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite cocktail. The Beach House Cosmo features a bright limeade and some triple sec, so you know it’s gonna be good.
Peach Whiskey Tea by Rock Paper Feather
This is another one where you have to make the simple syrup, but trust us, it’s totally worth it. All we need is a wraparound porch and a huge sunhat.
Cherry Vanilla Dirty Coke by Cupcakes And Kale Chips
Take your childhood favorite to the next level. This one is super simple with just vodka, vanilla extract and grenadine.
Sangria Verde by The Bojon Gourmet
The art of sangria takes a few attempts to master — but who doesn’t love wine, fruit and more booze mixed together? You’ll find Vinho Verde and white rum in this sangria.
BRB, we’re going pool hopping now.
Note: Reflector Magazine wishes for all of its lovely readers to please sip responsibly.
